fun toddler food ideas halloween mummy sausages

We love Halloween! 🎃 Here’s a spooky and fun breakfast for your little ones- mummy sausages. Our little one couldn’t help poking the eyes before devouring the entire mummy 👻These can also be made with phyllo dough for those who are a little more adventurous!

Ingredients:
1 Package of uncooked Crescent rolls
6 uncooked sausages (we used Beyond Meat plant-based sausages)

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

1. Open your crescent roll package and unroll the dough.

2. Cut the dough into ¼ – 1/8 inch strips. (variation makes it more interesting).

3. Wrap the pieces of dough around each sausage, creating bandages by stretching the dough slightly and letting it overlap and crisscross. Leave some gaps, so it looks like a mummy peeking out from its bandages.

4. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the dough is golden brown on the baking sheet.

5. Remove from oven and decorate with eyes (a toothpick helps!) We used vegan mayo and black sesame seeds- other options include ketchup, sour cream, mustard, or other condiments.

Serve with various veggies for a wholesome breakfast. Here we have roasted sweet potatoes – packed with vitamin A. Simply toss diced sweet potatoes with olive oil, chopped onions, salt, and a pinch of thyme. Roast for about 30 minutes in a 450f degree oven until tender.
